Floating Island #1
A chap enjoying the sunset after a hard day’s work.
I’ve been enjoying trying new techniques recently, here I’ve tried to apply some of them into a single piece.
I’ve uploaded each stage of production, from rough to finished composition. Rough and library was done in Photoshop, then I moved to Procreate to colour.
I say number #1, that’s a lie as I love my floating rocks, but it’s the first I’m uploading here!

Moved to Procreate, created myself a palette and blocked out colour.
Added light and shadow. Here I wanted to add both depth and texture to the piece.
Added the sky. I picked existing colours and lowered the saturation, tweaking them slightly until I found a gradient I was happy with.
Added clouds and blocked out there colour, this time picking colours from the sky.
Added light and shadow to the clouds as well as some very faint smoke pouring out the chimney. Finished!
